Friday 17th Dec

Started the day at 0445, couldn't lay in bed any longer, the sun was up and the birds were singing. Decided the best way to get going was a brisk 1 hour walk while waiting for Cilla to wake up.

First up was a trip to Hilarys Boat Harbour and Sorento Quay.
Lots of little shops, cafes & restaurants, not to mention big fishing boats.

Next on the agenda was a visit to The Aquarium of Westen Australia (AQWA).

Very impressive displays and well set out.

Then it was back to the Karrinyup Shopping Centre to complete our Christmas shopping for Chrissi, James and the girls.
Finally got back to the resort around 7 pm, and what better way to finish the day but sitting on the balcony with a dozen oysters and a couple of rums.
Well thats it for today, tomorrow a couple of quick tours of Perth & Fremantle with lunch on a Swan River cruise.

December : WA Trip

The holiday begins.

Virgin Blue, Darwin to Brisbane, breakfast in Brissi Airport, then onto another plane to fly to Perth.
Total travelling time 12 hours, not the best way to get from Darwin to Perth, think we might have to change return dates and try for a direct flight.
Organised rental car and managed to get to Karrinyup Waters Resort without any problems, even found local shopping complex, 3 times the size of Cas.

December 2010

What happened to October & November, it seems like just yesterday that our WA trip was 10 weeks away and suddenly it's less than 10 days.
The last 2 months have seen many ups & downs, it seem to have been more downs, the latest being Virgin Blue deciding we didn't want a direct flight to Perth but wanted to visit Brisbane & Sydney on the way. After a bit of to and fro on the phone they managed to get us a flight that didn't include the Sydney stopover. But it is no good complaining, you just pick yourself up and continue on.

Fishing trips over the last two months were a trifle disappointing, it seemed that every trip either included big rainstorms or heaps of other boats in my favorite creek, so I finally admitted defeat and packed the boat up until next year.

I will attempt to keep updating this blog throughout the trip, so if you are interested I suggest you come back & check throughout the next month.

September 2010

Well, here we are in October, only two months before we head off to Perth.
September was a quiet month like most.
Club Clipsal held a dinner at the Darwin Water Ski Club, a great night was had by all who attended.
Club Clipsal also organised a day charter with Arafura Bluewater Charters. Cilla & I had a most enjoyable day even though there were only a few big fish caught.
Fishing

Apart from the above charter I managed 3 trips to the Wilshire's, 2 on my own and 1 with Shane & Juliet.

July 2010

Somebody stop the bus, another month has just flown by and before you know it Christmas will be here.

A quiet month this one, not a lot happened.

The usual gardening & some more work under the house.

Took Cilla to the Casino for her birthday, dinner at the Golden Dragon and thanks to a couple of small pokie wins the whole night cost us $27.00.

Fishing..
Wilshire Creek for 3 barra & 2 salmon.
Catalina Creek for 1 Jack & 1 Cod

June 2010

Another month has gone by and here we are in the middle of 2010.

Cilla , myself & our fur kids are all well.

This month has been our energy conservation period. Signed up for solar power installation, fitted remote control power boards throughout the house so all those things that sit in standby mode can be turned off without dismantling the furniture and converted most of our downlights to energy efficient globes.

Finally finished boxing the rafters under the house & started painting.

Spent a few days in the garden, tidying up & repotting some of our plants.

FISHING....
Only managed 3 trips this month, one to Corroboree for two catfish, one to the Harbour creeks for zilch & one to the Wilshires for 3 barra, 1 flathead & 1 catfish.
.
Well, that's all for this month, hope this finds you all well and will write again next month.
